exposure: lil mama, jr aquino, ryan leslie
I know, I know. You could say that Lip Gloss was one of the most annoying songs of 2007. But you really can't deny that 1) Lil Mama has an awesome flow, 2) girl can dance, and 3) her songs are catchy and slightly addicting. I'm a huge fan.
You've probably heard this song on the radio by now, but if you haven't, it's definitely worth a listen. And the video is worth a watch. Lil Mama and Chris Brown are workin' it! And, as bonus number three, T-Pain is actually not annoying -- his rap portion is pretty tight.
Plus, Chris's faces are HILARIOUS.
What can I say about this dude?! He's got a great voice. I love him cuz he's reppin' for all them GOOD Asian singers out there (all, like, eight of them).
This man is AMAZING. He's got a great singing voice, he can rap, he makes hot beats, he produces, he's fine ... um ... I could go on for a while. I think this song is several months old but to me it's still HOT. I love it!
In this video, Ryan spliced together videos of himself singing, producing and mixing the beats so it looks like he's doing all three things at the same time -- it's sick.
And for a more recent version of the song. This one's got Kanye in it (doesn't EVERY remix seem to have Kanye in it nowadays?), otherwise it sounds pretty much the same.

I've been finding soo much awesome new music at this R&B/Hip-hop blog A Hot Mess!. Plus I always like to have some commentary with my sound clips 'cause, I mean, even if somebody posts music on their blog, it doesn't mean it's good, right? (Ehm, except on my blog, where you know it's always good. Exactly!) This song, in particular, is SUCH a find. This is a Canadian dude who usually does Pop and took the time to remix up Kanye's "Flashing Lights" a little. Or, a lot. It's a really fun video to watch and I like the song, too. » AHM!
This song is something like the biggest revelation I have ever heard in my LIFE. Until now I always thought Christian music came in either Rock or Pop or Hymnal. But, OMG, it comes in R&B/Hip-hop too?! And with sick beats?! How about that? What's next, Christian rap? That would make me so happy I could seriously ... like ... jump on my bed. Or something equally spontaneous or whatnot. Anyway, I LOVE this song and it totally fits my musical philosophy right now (BET). Gospel is totally a million times more amazing than I thought it was. I have to do some major iTunes library expansion. » AHM!

Top four reasons you should listen to this song:
4. Liked "Bed" or "Suffocate"? This is just as good, if not better.
3. It makes you want to dance. Alone. In your room. Which is a good thing, since everybody could use a little more exercise nowadays.
2. J. Holiday is damn fine.
1. It's easy -- just click the little 'play' button. Takes like 1/10 of a second. Do it!
You won't regret it. He's one of the best singers out there right now (just watch that live Apollo performance I posted a few days ago). He's got so much control over his voice, and his riffs are always perfect. Trey Songz? Psh. Omarion? Chris Brown? Please. They're only famous because they can dance -- they've got NOTHING on my James.
Excuse me, I'm gonna go swoon now.
P.S. Oh, 'exposure' just means I'm exposing you to new music. Enjoy!

[i love] j. holiday
New law, people. Guys aren't allowed to be this hot while they're singing.
Especially when they sound a million times better live than on the record.
Sincerely,
Tiff

[i love] walk the line
mood |
Wow, I haven't posted in a long time.
But I just have to say how much I LOVE everything about Walk The Line!
1. The movie:

was ... FANTASTIC! Oscar-worthy!
Better than Brokeback Mountain!
2. The soundtrack:

AMAZING. ADDICTING. Love it.
Especially "Get Rhythm."
Hearing Joaquin Phoenix sing that first "hey" gives me happy chills all over.
3. Joaquin Phoenix:

is ... hot. As in caliente. AMAZING. Sigh.
He should have won that Oscar.
